The chance to get a top tier HC has come and gone

I'm not so sure about that. If that's the case, we're not talking about a closely guarded secret. If all the other franchises that need a head coach know it, then it surely would've been leaked by now and there would be articles left and right, like a Jags beat writer reporting the Jags aren't pursuing because he's expected to sign with NO.

But there are no rumors. There is no speculation. Theres no mention as to why these clubs aren't interviewing him or even requesting to interview him and I can't even find articles where journalists ask the question.

Theres more here then what we know of. It may just be as simple as they not wanting him. But It's hard to imagine that there is some league secret that every franchise knows and everyone is staying quiet and journalists just happen to not even be asking the question.

Here's a bleacher report where Dianna Russini discusses it. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...or-mike-mccarthy-after-bears-hire-ben-johnson

It sounds more like no one is interested.

I still can't shake this feeling that we're going to settle with Rizzi. Even if MM and Joe Brady are available wanting the job.
Mike McCarthy isn’t a candidate in NY, is due the Jets’ last coaching hiring cycle where they passed on MM and chose Adam Gase. Dallas went onto the playoffs and the Jets, same old jets. The Jax situation isn’t interesting to Mike becaue of the Gm. But now that he’s fired, maybe things change.
