Cowboys officially hire Brian Schottenheimer as Head Coach

People are throwing around the word “nepotism” on this thread, and I don't get it. Marty Schottenheimer is long out of coaching and has no connection to the Cowboys. And Brian Schottenheimer has coached in the league for a long time. I don't like his offense and wouldn't want him as my HC. But it's not like he hasn't earned his stripes.
People throw around the word “nepotism” (in this case) for good reason. It was as big a joke for the Lakers to draft Bronny James as it was for the Pats to hire Bill Belichick’s mullet headed kid. Those guys are getting jobs that are very limited in supply while a person that has a 1000x more talent can’t even get their foot in the door. It’s a crap deal, unless you are the one benefiting from it.

This isn’t the same as an owner passing the family owned team down to their heirs, this is a parent getting their kid ahead even though the kid is in over his skis.

Anyway, good luck to the Cowboys with this hire. I’m sure it will pan out gloriously.
