Loomis’s inability

To be part of the problem also leave the door open to being the key to the solution

I mean, everyone thinks they are a realist until proven otherwise. But, one of the great things about football is that they play the games and at the end of the season, you find out who were the realists, optimists, and pessimists.

From my point of view, Loomis needs to fix the drafting process so we draft better and he needs to get the cap under better control. But, I do think we have a mediocre roster right now that with the right draft picks over the next year or two and the right coach can be a regular playoff team. I really think the major issue with this team was DA, and Loomis certainly gets blame for hiring him and keeping him to long, but the roster is better than it showed under DA. But, maybe it will turn out that I'm just a misguided optimist and you are the realist.

I think Loomis should move on and that he has many issues, but he isn't moving on for at least a few years. And despite that, I still think we can be back to being a playoff team in a couple years if we make the right hire at HC. Maybe I'm not being realistic, but I'd rather try to enjoy the ride and get disappointed in the end than hate the ride and be disappointed in the end.
This is an odd statement on a fan forum. All we can do is look at different people's preferences and predictions and see who was wrong, right,. etc.
Posters were ready to talk smack after we won a couple of games. I never liked hiring DA; you can go back four years to when he was hired to see my initial thoughts on him.
We hired a losing coach, which was a dumb decision by Mick that set us back years. I was wrong about Peterson with the Jags, and I thought Campbell was all rah-rah in Detroit, so I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.
If we're not in the playoffs in two years, we hired the wrong coach again. Just because Mick is not expected to be fired doesn't mean the fans cannot express their frustration with his recent history of incompetent decisions. I'm not enjoying a losing ride. I didn't do that in high school when I worked in the dome selling "Dove bars" and cared more about my free Domino's voucher than who won because we weren't going beat the Niners or Rams, and I'm not going to do that as a middle-aged man.
