Joe Brady withdraws from Saints HC search

It is pretty telling about this job when you cannot get people to come in and interview. Even people who cannot get in-person interviews with any other team.

Ben Johnson was the hottest name.
Vrabel was a well respected winning coach.
Glenn was a coveted up and coming coach with interviews with every team.
Brady. Nobody else wants Brady as HC this cycle.

It looks really bad for the organization. Now, it may end up that they may hire someone miles better than Brady, but there is an absolute stink on this team right now and I hope Mickey is thinking about where the smell is coming from.

I'm not saying that it's a really attractive job. It never was because we don't have a good young QB and our veteran QB is an average QB that makes too much money. But it doesn't mean you can't hire a good coach and I like the options that we have left even if we end up just hiring McCarthy.

It's not like Pete Carroll or Brian Shottenheimer were some amazing choices that we missed out on. So, even if this is the worst job available, I think we will get a better coach than the Raider or the Cowboys. But, in the end, how good or bad of a job it is does not really matter. A new coach is either going to turn it around and win or he's going to lose and he and Loomis will go. I just think it's dumb to freak out about every bit of bad news and have this incredible overreaction to it.
