McCarthy taking the job means nothing in these terms. But him turning it down means everything. He never received any other offers and only interviewed with one other team that immediately hired Ben Johnson as soon as the chance became available.

McCarthy is at point where its either us, or nothing. He'll likely accept and if he'd rather wait a year, that just means we've flown so far off the rails its probably best to just sell the team.
