But the perception of the team in league circles does matter because it means our choices for a new head coach are more limited than we would have hoped and it is an indication that the state of the organization is not good.

And if McCarthy is very much interested in the Saints job (though I find the lack of a firm date for his interview baffling), do stories that the Saints organization is not held in high esteem any longer increase the chances of our hiring the highest-profile candidate, Mike McCarthy?
