Unusual criticism from NOF and Underhill
If McCarthy wants the job, I think increasingly he is the choice. The waters are suddenly becoming turbulent. I think Loomis wants to quiet them for a period, and a McCarthy hiring would do that, though only for short term unless the Saints win quickly.
If McCarthy is not the choice, whether because he does not want the job or the Saints do not favor him, I see the hire being Weaver, Kafka or Rizzi. I personally did not think that Brady had the resume or the maturity to be head coach. Much of Brady's appeal was Burrow's last year at LSU. But that year, the Tigers had perhaps the most talented offense in the history of college football. Kellen Moore also does not excite me. May be a good offensive coordinator. But the demands, and the personal traits necessary, for being a successful head coach are very different from those of an OC.
