Unusual criticism from NOF and Underhill
They're just angling for clicks. Sign of the times.
Nowadays anyone can have a podcast, Xtwitter account, website, and say and speculate whatever they want... it's rather easy to go around the web, read comments on youtube, forums, etc. get a bit of an idea what fans are saying, and run to the podcast/Xtwitter/website to confirm that bias.
There could be a number of reasons why candidates didn't want a 1st or 2nd interview other than the Saints job being undesirable:
1. Security that another team told 'em "you are the guy" and incertitude around the other openings.
2. They know who the team's favorite candidate is and it's not them.
3. They could've had a bad 1st interview and don't want to further embarrass themselves.
4. It could be the wife doesn't want to move the kids from school.
5. They could've had seconds thoughts about becoming a HC.
6. They could be very happy in their current situation.
7. They could've gotten a case of cold feet.
8. They could have a strong preference for a particular city/area in the country.
9.They could have a strong dislike for the city/area in the country no matter how good the job is.
But no, it must be the Saints job is undesirable, because the talking heads and the comment sections say so.
And the reporters and talking heads... go ask Joe Brady why he didn't want the 2nd interview. Do your job and get a freaking quote (even if it's a neutral canned one) We all can speculate with the best of 'em; we don't need you to speculate for us.
