With Moore emerging as the perceived front runner, it makes me wonder if MM was ever really an option now that there are rumblings that he plans to sit this cycle out and take a year off. The discussion with MM, could have been part of the information gathering/vetting process for Moore.

RebelMax also said that MM had people lobbying for the Saints job and Underhill recently said that McCarthy is still interested in the job, but if he does take the year off, it's likely more because he didn't get one of the two jobs he wanted or was a candidate for as was forced to sit out a year. I know he has sat out a year before, but it would seem unlikely it would be by choice at age 61.

But, while Moore may be the top choice at this point, it seems unlikely that McCarthy would be behind Kafka, Weaver, or Rizzi.
