Oh come on man. If this was any other team we would be talking about how people are poaching good talent from them and there was no way they could keep Ziegler as a glorified scout when another team is offering the Assistant GM role. He wasn't going to stay here so he could keep sitting in on coach interviews and turn down an Assistant GM job.

I'm not saying I blame him for going to better job but he did leave in the middle of the coaching search.

As far as his scouting, he hasn't been here long and hasn't really even had a chance to have an impact. Fuaga was a solid pick so far, but the rest are still unknown. Free agency wasn't anything special. But I'm not aware of his particular role in that regard other than being part of the team that did the job.
