I wish him well and while it is true he had bad luck with injuries I am not sad to see him go. It just didn’t work out. I felt the lack of adjustments and failures to adapt to to the ebb and flow of the game really hurt this team in close games.
What's the adjustment though? What would you have done? You think not being able to get the ball to your 4th string WR, who's forced into a starting role, is a playbook issue? There's no amount of adjusting that's going to make up that talent discrepancy in the NFL.
"I know it's our backup QB, 3rd string RB, and a practice squad WR, but let's run more play action this quarter. They won't know what hit'em!"
The talent difference was so bad, I don't think it would have mattered. If your 4th through practice squad WRs can't get open, they can't get open. They're not open in play action, they're not open in spread. They aren't getting opened after "adjustments".
