Enough With the HC Hand Wringing - McCarthy Is the Best Option for the Saints

Interestingly, Mike Ditka's win-loss percentage before he was hired by the Saints was higher than McCarthy's win-loss percentage in Green Bay and in Dallas. Past success matters. It is a factor. But there are many factors to consider, and it it is not--as the financial advisers and mutual-fund companies say--determinative of future success.
It's clear that this decision is down to Kellen Moore versus Mike McCarthy. McCarthy is the "safe" choice due to his skins on the wall; but Moore is strong candidate and a better NFL resume than Joe Brady. Even more interesting choice because of their overlap in Dallas.

Interesting that Jones did not hire him in Dallas; but maybe that's a good sign (Moore did not want to be Jones' puppet(. As fans on the outside looking in (and not interviewing either of them, much less having a deep understanding of their HC credentials we really have no idea which will be the best fit here.

But I think hiring either of these would be a good hiring decision (for different reasons). Let's hope that whichever one they hire works out here.
