It appears the Kellen Moore thing may be shaky
I'm not saying there aren't some good reasons to keep Kubiak, I'm just saying that Nick said that Rizzi wasn't going to keep Kubiak. He released anther article about the coaching search today and he said that Rizzi's plan is to use his contacts to bring in a bunch of experienced assistants by offering them big money while Rizzi takes less than many HCs.
FWIW, he also said that the Moore interview went well and they went there with questions about if Moore was a leader but he thought they would have answered those in the interview.
Just went and read the article. Kafka got the longest excerpt and he confirmed what I saw in the vids of him coaching last years senior bowl.
He had a presence, is detailed, and he said the right things w/ regards to motivation. He’s a leader, and I like his philosophy of attacking on offense.
I listened to another interview and he wants to push the ball downfield. My only question w/ that is would we have the oline to do it. With that being said, big plays = an excited crowd in the dome and I think that philosophy matches what NO fanbase has come to expect from an offense.
Meanwhile, I read somewhere else he’d bring in Don Martindale, who’s scheme is blitz heavy, something we haven’t seen around these parts since 3G but again, something I think would take advantage of the environment in the dome.
Biggest ? Is, can Kafka design a good offense if he calls plays but I don’t worry about if he’s a leader. Bonus that Mahomes spoke highly of him w/ regards to development.
Moore is almost the complete opposite. Scheme/playcalling is great but in one interview I watched his body language is a little closed. Kafka tends to have his shoulders back and chest open, more inviting. However I’ve only watched one Moore interview so I need to research a bit more
