Okay, you can call it a strawman argument and just live in lala land if you want, and that can be a tool you use to feel good about a situation (or yourself). I would call it blind optimism, but do what makes you feel better.
Do me a favor my man. Please quote where I ever said I "feel good" about the situation or have displayed what you call "blind optimism."
You're not hearing what I'm actually saying. It seems that anyone who doesn't share the exact same negative perspective that you do is "blindly optimistic."
"Optics" of a situation is just another word for judging a situation. I don't judge situations when I know I only have the scantest of information about the situation. Not judging the "optics" is not the same thing as being "blindly optimistic" about the situation.
