American Airlines CRJ-700 collides with helicopter near Reagan National

I’ve done that very approach many times - the 33 runway from the south gives you the whole DC skyline if you’re on the right side. It’s a beautiful landing.
The only time I can remember flying out of there was on a Sunday several years ago after a particularly bad Saints loss (can't remember which game or year). I was wearing Saints gear and another dude getting on the flight was wearing Saints gear and we locked eyes and I was about to whip out a sad "who dat" but he cut me off before I got it out and just said, "Don't". lol I understood.

My only other National Airport story was before it was even Reagan International when we were picking up a friend's boyfriend and it involved Southern Comfort, getting lost in DC, needing to pee on the grass below Capitol Hill, and after finally finding the airport sideswiping the metal pole on the way into the parking lot. I think the boyfriend (poor Brian) ended up driving home once we finally found him .... somewhere in the airport (I think that whole trip would have ended up differently in a post 9/11 world).
