Who are the Saints players or Coaches you have met and what was your interaction/thoughts on them?
Sometime in the late 80s or early 90s the Saints had a practice in the dome where fans could attend. I don't remember everyone I was with, but I know I was with my Grandma. We were standing near the endzone on the sideline when a passing play happened right in front of us where Vince Buck accidentally ran over my Grandma. She wound up being fine. Afterwards I got a ton of players autographs including Buck and Jim Mora. Sometime between 06-11, Joe Horn was in the stands during a Saints game right near me. I think it was a playoff game. People in Section 641 might remember what I'm talking about. I met Zach Strief and Fred McAfee at work, both were nice. Got Strief's autograph.
I've told this next one before, but it's my big one. I met Sean Payton one day back in 2009. It was the same day when they announced that Lance Moore hurt his shoulder working out. It was before the draft. I don't remember the name of the club, but the HC would go and answer questions once a year. It was at the Log Cabin bar near Clearview and Veterans and it was an actual log cabin. I asked 2 questions but the 2nd one is the good one. Now I can't take credit for coming up with this. That was someone else on here but I don't remember their name. If you see this, let me know. But it came down to the final question and he called on me and as I'm asking it, you can tell he's thinking either I'm an idiot or where the hell am I going with it. "Coach, I was going over the past couple of years looking for a single reason as to why the Saints aren't going to the playoffs and then it hit me. Kenny Chesney." He laughed and said "he's banned!" and shook my hand. I wound up also getting his autograph and had him write "Black and gold to the Super Bowl." Turns out he literally banned Kenny Chesney from training camp for real in 2009 and then we win the Super Bowl. I've been wondering where my Super Bowl ring is but I haven't gotten it yet.
