Build the Saints' 3-4 Defense

I agree that a 4-3 3-tech is his natural spot. As far as success in a new scheme, it depends on what he is asked to do (one-gap versus two-gap) and on his alignment (how often will he get double teams). He could end up doing mostly the same things in a 3-4 one gap scheme that he has been doing in his time with the Saints.
Learned something new today doing research on our potential DC.

They don’t 2 gap or 1 gap. They gap and a 1/2. This is what allows the safeties in the scheme to “get there” in the words of Brandon Staley.

So they aren’t just reading like a two gap and neither are they just flat out penetrating a single gap at the snap. It’s somewhat of a mixture
