Saints Execs love Spencer Rattler per ESPN’s Matt Miller

I think a few others may have mentioned it, but this is how you start to get word out that A) Carr is available and his agent can back channel to see how/where he can fit and B) let the fan base start lapping up the kool-aid that Rattler could be our QB going into next year...
I admit, I thought it was too far fetched that we could get out of this Carr deal--without hamstringing our financials, but it appears like he will have a bit of a market, because:
1. He's actually not a bad QB by any means--relative to where the position is in the league...
2. There is a massive need for the position (obv) and market rates are skyrocketing
3. The draft is weaker at the position than recent years and the FA market is barren (outside of Darnold)

Feels like maybe PIT could be interested? TEN is a possibility given the connection between Carr/head coach there and IF they pass on QB at top of draft. Giants maybe...even the Browns could be possible. There seem to be legit options. Carr has to agree but if we keep sending signals that we like Ratt and we're going with him, then Carr will be in a spot where he's likely to play ball on a trade.
If Carr wants to pocket the $40 million in new money he is due this coming season and not risk is likely last contract value, he will accept a trade. Or he could gamble to see what he'd get in free agency knowing he would still get $10 million from us even if we cut him. Or, in the worst scenario for him, he could end up QB2 in 2025 and turn into Jameis in 2026 when he's released. His best option is obviously to make his money now whether from the Saints or another team on the contract he has. But the Saints are more likely to put him on the bench to develop a new QB for the new coach. We will see how it plays out.
