Honestly, I feel the only # that deserves to be permanently retired is #9.

Brees is the only player in franchise history that has the resume to go into the Hall of Fame as a 1st ballot. Period. Anyone else had to wait what, 5+ years after they retired? It's simple.

Plenty of other all-time greats, some predominately in a Saints uniform, some not, that may deserve to have their # de-circulated for awhile, but no more than 5 numbers at a time.
