Well that's sad - and it also goes to the earlier discussion on this thread (from back in '12) about why people would subject themselves that kind of publicity and online trash talk, especially when the whole thing is about how they are now in quite a lot of money.

But hard to say whether that actually mattered here, the history with this guy was already there. Perhaps her family's coming into wealth made him even more psychotic about her and that may have had nothing to do with the show.

I know some of the extended family. The money and fame had nothing to do with it. Gaddy had anger and jealousy issues. He wanted Valerie to never speak to her ex-husband again. However they shared children together and did their best to co-parent. He killed her in a rage filled moment of jealousy confronting her about speaking to/being around her ex-husband. At least that's the part of the family I know's thoughts about all this (it was almost a decade ago.)
