Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff
I preached enough about Rizzi and I had my reasons for him being the ideal fit. So here's my counter-argument to Rizzi.
When Campbell was hired, and then proceeded to hire a bunch of former players on his staff there was an article written that expressed concerns that Campbell's unit was a bunch of meat heads leading meat heads and that he'd be hard pressed to win. He's proven those doubters wrong, but something about the way this year ended was a major let down. Then he had to watch his units get stripped of the OC/DC that helped him build the whole thing.
The thing about energetic fiery leaders, is that sometimes energy and fire isn't what the team needs. After so long that energy can get tuned out, because not every game needs a "rah rah" lets go bite some kneecaps type off approach. At some point, some of those games will require a bit of cerebral thinking and no amount of grit or toughness is going to help in those scenarios.
In a way we saw it at the end of the season...the Rizz started to wear off down the stretch. The passionate approach wasn't enough to get them over the hump and I think that's an inherent truth about those types of leaders.....the flame sometimes flames out because the fuel gets depleted.
