We also have to support him for what he DOESN'T do. If the team doesn't sign anyone of note, that is actually a good thing this year. If he doesn't keep a popular player, that is actually a good thing this year. If he doesn't take a popular prospect at 9 and trades back for more picks instead, that is actually a good thing this year. If some of his decisions seem questionable for the roster today but make a lot of sense for the cap, we should support him. If this off season, outside of the coaching hire, looks like a total disaster then he is probably doing the right thing for 2026 onward. I will be the one defending him for doing these things.
