Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach [Feb 10 — Fletcher Mackel: mostly done deal; intro press conference to be later this week]

i disagree completely. AG and BJ got jobs on the back of Dan Campbell. Not the other way around. Detroit will win their division again next season.
I think you're overvaluing the personality traits of coaches. Not that they can't be important, but it's not everything and not everyone with a certain personality trait is going to achieve the same success. Darren Rizzi is a good coach. Dan Campbell is a good coach. They are not the same people and there is no evidence that Rizzi would have any success at all as there wasn't before Campbell was hired by the Lions. I get that it's the gamble you believe is the right choice, but there aren't any other teams that are beating down the doors to talk to Rizzi for their HC. The Jets did a zoom meeting with him and that was it.

I get having a little bit of PTSD from DA, I have it a little bit too. But Kellen Moore is not DA anymore that Rizzi is Campbell. We have to let these guys be the individuals that they are. Moore by all accounts is a smart guy, who can design an offense, call plays, adjust to the roster he has and has the trust and respect of his players.

Darren Rizzi doesn't have all of those things. If he wants an HC job, he's going to have to branch out into offense or defense at a position less than coordinator and show he can do it. Even John Harbaugh had to move to being a defensive backs coach before being hired to be a head coach. Only two special teams coaches have ever been hired to be head coaches and both failed. Rizzi is a good guy, but he's not the guy we need.
