Israel (now broader Mid East discussion)

The President of the United States just announced that the US intends to occupy, raze, develop and inhabit Gaza.

What discussion can we have without involving politics? Im over on MAP as well- might as well close this thread because we have now moved into a whole different phase of discussion on this topic.

Im keen to let stay open but dont think we can have a true discussion on Israel/Gaza/ME here without bringing up the current ideology of the US and Israel, which is all political.
I agree, but it comes at the cost of being thoughtful to keep a post policy-based and not partisan based.

For illustrative purposes, the objectionable part of the deleted post was: "77 million voted for this guy. Reap what you sow." That's partisan, outside the scope of policy. This thread and the Ukraine thread have been EXCEPTIONS to the non-politics rule, and not a resetting of the EE-wide standard of avoiding commentary that would be inclined to invite partisan bickering.

You're welcome to implore Andrus to change the approach but, until he does, we moderate in accordance with his set rules.
