I wonder if he was being coached the entire time he was here. When you hear that the Defensive Head Coach didn't even make sure to get his D Line coached, what chance does a UDFA WR have?
The WR coach we got from the Ravens is pretty well thought of and he did good work considering the MASH unit we had a WR. He got MVS and Pettis up to speed very quickly. And I think he did a good job with Means. So, I think Perry had proper coaching. I just don't think he's anything special and that's why he was available in the 6th round. People just had expectations way too high for him based on him catching some deep balls later in his rookie year. He just doesn't have a lot of skills you need to be more than a guy you use for jump balls and fades due to his height.
