Day 3 Defensive Draft Picks I Have Good Feelings About.
Defense:
EDGE Boise St Ahmed Hassanein is one of my draft darlings. He’s a big violent handed power based EDGE who has some finesse elements to his game. His effort & relentlessness make him a true edge zombie. He reminds me a lot of Will Smith.
EDGE Miami/Tenn Tyler Baron, is quietly one on the most consistent EDGE rusher in college football. He may not wow anyone athletically, but the dude is a legit football player who can generate pressure from multiple fronts & positions. He reminds me of our very own Carl Granderson.
EDGE Central Arkansas David Walker is a pure pass rush pressure specialist. He is shot of Iron Man’s Proton Cannon fast coming iff the edge. His reels a fun to watch. Walker’s a bit undersized, height wise, but plays the game like a rampaging beast. He reminds me of Shaq Barrett.
DT/NT UCLA Jay Toia is literally the type of IDL we need vs the run & to unlock Bryan Bresee’s elite pass rushing traits. This dude is a legit run stuffer who does all dirty work to free up teammates to make plays.
S Georgia Dan Jackson is another one of my draft darlings. Honestly, if Jackson wasnt in GA, i think he wouldve had more opportunities showcase his skillset as a playmaker. He just happened to be on a team that was/is loaded w/playmakers on D. This dude can cover, play the slot, & has some legit ball skills & hawk ability. He was the the best S at the Senior Bowl, & that’s w/guys like Andrew Mukuba, Billy Bowman, Jonas Sanker & Hunter Wohler. I think Dan Jackson has starter upside in the pros.
Offense:
RB Syracuse Lequint Allen is my favorite RB in this class. I now there’s prospects w/better measurables & better skillsets. But this particular dude this is “my guy”. Allen’s a different style of runner. He’s got an odd WR build & his running style kind of borders on being out of control at times. But the man is quietly complete. He’s got power, excellent contact balance, short area quickness, & he blocks. What’s more, is Lequint is dare say, the best receiving RB in this class.
RB Michigan Kalel Mullings is a hulked out RB who’s a combo of power & just enough finesse to break defenders ankles leading to a lot of missed tackles. Mullings is converted LB, so he’s a bit of a developmental guy. But the ceiling is crazy high for dude this big and athletic. He reminds me a ton of Najee Harris, minus the receiving ability.
WR Memphis Roc Taylor does exactly what no WR on the current roster does, & that’s consistently win combat catch scenarios. At a rocked up 6’3 220, Taylor could develop in that ace go to possession receiver w/havent had since 2020. I mean, watch this guy’s reels when you can. He looks like Marques Colston.
WR UTSA De'Corian Clark is a legit beast at the WR position. Much like Taylor, he’s a 50/50 ball winner whose a physical mismatch when moving the chains & in the RZ. This dude has legit Day2 ability, but injuries have absolutely murdered his college career. Clark has tons of untapped potential. He reminds me of George Pickens.
TE UCLA Moliki Matavao is another guy who can consistently win contested catch situations, move chains, & be a mismatch nightmare in the RZ. Moliki has good hands & is a developing blocker. His size alone at 6’6 265 is a physical advantage when blocking. He totally showcased his receiving & blocking skills at the Senior Bowl. He has combo TE ability. In my opinion, in the right environment, Moliki could end up being the George Kittle of this draft.
