This was a "Lamar got an undeserved, whiffy MVP last year so we can't give it to him again" makeup award. Kinda like a reverse Al Pacino winning the Best Actor Oscar for Scent of a Woman.
Statically it’s hard to argue against the season he had, but I guess the voters split the baby, so to speak, naming Jackson 1st team All Pro and Allen MVP.
