Netflix axes controversial nine-hour Prince documentary
Prince was a musical genius. Prince was a cultural force. But I think there’s already ample evidence that Prince was forked up.
But I get it - they're not saying nobody has the right the present Prince in any way, they’re saying that they’re not going to allow use of exclusive content that the estate controls to be used in a way that they don’t agree with.
It’s certainly ironic that the estate of an artist who was challenging to social norms would take such a restrictive position but that’s their prerogative. They aren’t the artists, they’re the financial beneficiaries.
