Yep. I never liked his songs very much. Certainly not a top-ten guitar player of the 80s compared to Clapton, Van Halen, etc. He was more popular for his personality/look than his music. I think he was famous because he had a unique queer/sensitive look slightly before that was cool. Just "one of those weird 80s guys" to me.

"He could play lots of instruments" people say. Wow. Lots of people can do that.
