Saints Execs love Spencer Rattler per ESPN’s Matt Miller

You make my point Rattler didn’t show he was better than Haener, doesn’t that tell you anything. I know you are pulling for Rattler, and so am I, but I don’t see that he has the talent or potential to be viable NFL starter. I hope I am wrong. But the new coach needs to have a plan in place if Rattler turns out to be the player I think he is.

What part of what I wrote shows that Rattler isn't better than Haener? Giving Rattler the starts over Haener shows he is better. Rattler replacing Haener and then starting the rest of the year shows he is better than Haener. And frankly, all you had to do was watch them play and you can tell that Rattler is better than Haener.

I'm not pulling for anyone in particular but you certainly appear to be pulling against Rattler. I just want a good QB, I don't care if it's Haener, Carr, Rattler or someone else. You just seem to have this weirdly dim view of Rattler and refuse to see any of the upside in his game.

In the end, it's clear after two years that Haener is not a starting caliber NFL QB. Carr is a starting caliber QB, but he's reached his peak and his peak is mediocre starter. And at his age, he is likely to decline from that soon. Rattler showed some promise last year but needs a lot of work. The only way he is going to get that work so that we can find out if he is any good is if he gets starts this year. Otherwise we go into the 2026 draft being forced to draft a QB or having to spend money on a new QB after letting Carr go.
