Great article from Underhill looking into the mind of Kellen Moore

I've been a huge supporter of upgrading the TE position, and I still am.

However, look at the TEs Moore has worked with. None of them are stars. It looks like he can take a complete TE and use him effectively. Moreau is a complete TE. I think Moore can elevate Moreau's usage and production.

Now, if we add a better TE, great, but Moore looks like he can elevate these guys.

We saw JJ slowing shift back to a Big WR down the stretch and he got better as he did. He looks like he's lost some of that extra weight he put on to play TE.

Moore has shown he can use a Big WR. JJ is not a dynamic Big X, but he can play it. He's bigger than Noah Brown, but he could be that role in Moore's offenses.

WR1 Tet/Tre Harris/Higgins or Savion Williams - Big X
WR2 - Olave - Y/Z
WR3 - Shaheed -Y/Z/Playmaker
WR4 - JJ - Big X, running plays, Big personnel packages
WR5 - Means - X/Y/Z, see where he develops best. He's young, talented and does the dirty work. Not afraid to go across the middle.
WR6 - Kevin Austin Jr. - X/Y/Z, see where he develops best. He's young, talented and does the dirty work. Not afraid to go across the middle.

I also like the idea of Jack Bech or Pat Bryant. Both are similar size and skills sets which are similar to Means and KAJr.

That leaves Moreau and Holker at TE and room to add one of these TEs from the draft.
In 2021 Moore had the #1 O , he had Schultz @ TE , he's better than any TE we have. in 21 he caught 78 passes for 800 yds and 8TDs . So yes he did have a very good almost star TE

JJ is too slow to be an X and is not really much of a contested catch guy.
