To answer your question, I don't think you can get both in one product. If you want sheers that allow light in, they won't be ideal for blocking sun to keep heat out. I know this because I've researched it extensively. I have 16' ceilings in my apartment and floor to ceiling windows everywhere that face east & west. In the morning my bedroom is hot AF and in the pm, the living & dining room is a sauna. You are better off getting roll down shades and then adding some light curtains on top.

I have roll down shades that are not opaque. Looked into curtains for here but they would cost a fortune and I don't plan on being here after my lease is up this year (been here 7 years) so don't want to invest in curtains for a place I will be leaving.

I love the EE for asking questions. It's like Reddit filtered down to a smaller amount of strangers who have great taste in football team. There is a lot of nonsense on here but that's what makes it great. Something for everyone.
