I dont usually have an issue with Costner , except for in 13 Days, his Boston accent was atrocious.. but Field of Dreams to me is way too syrupy and sentimental.. i actually like sentimental ish up to a point, but it was too much even for me.. what I dont like is supernatural crap introduced only to advance the plot.. to me, it’s lazy writing.. oh, he hears a voice ?? How convenient .. Oh, and dead guys show up to play baseball ?? It’s just so over the top..honestly, the more i watch it the more it seems to me almost like religious overtones with the ‘supernatural’ and ‘magical thinking’ elements.. which might also explain why it sucks .
