I Think Sometimes We Focus on the Wrong Things (My Thoughts on Derek Carr Catching Backlash for Not Being in the City)

He’s here because we paid for his services.
Aren't they all?

And really, how many players "grasp N.O.'s culture" because they want to, not because they feel obligated to do so, or because their PR firm tells them to do so?

Sure, you'll find your Demario Davises and your Ben Watsons here and there, who truly care about the communities they live in, but that goes beyond just "grasping a culture".

I don't care if Carr eats at Chipotle with his family (and I do have a legitimate hueso to pick with that place); or that he leaves with his family during SB week or Madi Gras or whenever the city is crowded; play football, play it well, show you are a leader on the field (and it'd be nice if you kept the whining and hospital balls to a minimum). That's all I am concerned about.
