Saints hire Kellen Moore as head coach

Not sure how any Saints fan can't be excited about this. While Moore has a ton of work to do, it's hard to not compare this to the Payton hire back in 06. Clearly Moore does not have a QB of the caliber of Brees on the roster and hopefully finding long term future at QB is a top priority. Either way I am super excited for the offseason. Going to be fun to see that staff and roster being built out over the next few months.
Exactly. For Saints fans this is an echo of the past. I'm so glad we have a bright, young offensive mind as HC again. The old saying about defense winning championships was true back when offenses lined up in the I formation and rammed at a 9 man box for 4 quarters but in this modern game, I'll gladly take my chances with offense.

But I'm going into this with a clear head and realistic expectations. The problems with this teams took years to develop and will take years to sort them out. Moore gets the first two years for free IMO. After that we'll see. Right now I'm just excited to see the staff he puts together and I'm anxious to see if the FO heads in another direction with the draft. How they approach it and the types of players they select. Hopefully they move away from the prototype projects and just draft good ball players.

It would be nice if the new DC has a flexible system that can use some of these freakish Edge players we see around the league that had no where to play in DA's system.
