Maybe. I could certainly see this injury being too much for him. Not sure if he'll be healthy enough to even play his last year of his contract (he's owed a new 10m in salary). I have trouble picturing him signing a new contract. Seems like it's this year or done. He's not your typical 35yo though, so who knows.

If he retires he might do the Drew Brees deal which could save around 9mil I believe this year. That's on him though and leaves money leftover in 2026.

A straight cut (retirement) without manipulation is "even" on the books and clears it all this year. Certainly doable as well if we don't need the money now.

So you have options if he can't make it. I'm wait and see with a lot of these aging guys. Would be tough to see for him particularly because the injury. Dude was still going beast mode.
