Opinions and feelings now that Moore is the head coach.
Yeah but if you have a choice of candidates right now with everything that happened would you still pick Moore? I mean my choice was and still is Mike McCarthy because of his experience. I am happy we have Moore.
I was fine with McCarthy, Moore, Brady, or Kingsbury. I would get the vision with McCarthy as a steady influence that can return you to a playoff team. And I realize that he was a pretty low risk option, but he also came with a shorter shelf life.
But, honestly, I'm happier with the aggressive hire of the youngest, smartest guy in the room move. I think it signals that Loomis is done trying to hold onto the past and realises we needed a fresh start. I think it's going to lead to a more exciting team and potentially better results in the long run. I would have liked Kingsbury, but there was the fear of the retread and his lack of sustained success in Arizona. And while I liked Brady, he's not close to as ready to be a head coach as Moore is.
And, in the end, the risk of waiting this long paid off with better "optics" than anyone would have imagined when Joe Brady withdrew his name from consideration. I think we both got what might have been one of if not the hottest HC candidate this year had others not already taken jobs. If Moore had been in Philly one more year, he would have been as hot or hotter than Ben Johnson was this year. In fact, he likely would have been the hottest name on the market and we managed to get him a year early.
But, with that comes the fact that we need to be patient with him and let him grow as an NFL head coach. He's the youngest HC in the league. He is 6 years younger than Payton was when he got the job and we considered him a very young HC. It should be exciting watching him grow and the franchise grow with him.
