How would you feel with Jaxson Dart at 9?

Big people beat up little people. We’ve gotten away from drafting that way last few years and have taken many exceptions at positions and it’s come back to bite us.

I think it’s also important to know that the success of a RB depends on Oline and QB he’s working w/. Barkley and Henry had subpar years in 2023 which is why their teams were ok w/ letting them walk. Both went to teams w/ good QBs and Oline.

Put Henry back on Titans w/ Levis and their oline and he’s back to 3.5 ypc. We need to establish our QB position first and add more weapons.

RB is a need I just don’t think Jeanty needs to go to a team and be part of a 3 man rotation like he will be here to degree.

Even when we did that by adding Alvin we waited till 3rd round to add to the stable.

That's my issue with Jeanty at #9. If you don't have a great OL and at least a good QB, it's relatively easy for NFL teams to neutralize a good or even great RB. There are few exceptions to that rule like Barry Sanders and Marshall Faulk, but with Faulk it was because of the threat he was in the passing game. I don't see Jeanty as the elite level guy that can not be neutralized by a defense. If for no other reason he's not shown to be elite in the passing game like guys like Faulk and even Kamara and Reggie Bush.

We saw it in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs decided to stop Barkley, who is a great RB, and they did it. Philly won because they had the WR talent and QB to make the Chiefs pay for it. They also had a play caller smart enough to take advantage of it while not abandoning the run.

So, if Jeanty really is BPA at #9 I get taking him and then getting those other things later, but I can't help but think that a trade down for more picks makes more sense for this team with it's lack of overall talent and depth. I think the best situation for this team is for an equally good player, or better, at another position to fall to them. Hopefully that guy is Mason Graham, but they should be open to other positions. And if that doesn't happen then you trade down to build overall talent and depth.
