Mike Garafolo: Saints are set to make a decision on Derek Carr within the next few weeks; likely to have multiple suitors if released

Two thoughts in regards to Carr.

The bigger issue is valuation. Hard to figure out right? This at least provides some context.

Running through all the starters the three worst in terms of valuation (roughly meaning pay vs performance)?

1. Dak Prescott
2. Deshaun Watson
3. Derek Carr

Click the valuation tab, it’s available for all players.

While it’s not perfect it at least gives a framework to go by.

Second and separate thought:
And the Falcons are going to do it with Cousins, the Broncos did it with Wilson, the Bucs had to do it with Brady because of his retirement. It's not a crazy notion to move on from Carr and get back to a more normal range of cap management and the rest of the contracts void in 2026. Some want to gaslight people and make it seem crazy, but it's not. And what better time to do so than at the beginning of a new era.
In line with your thoughts.

Its very perplexing that there is a segment of folks who somehow think Carr can’t be let go? What has he ever done in his career to warrant such treatment is beyond me. All of the QBs in the example are far more accomplished and are or will be let go. Now Rodgers.

And yet somehow to some fans Carr is untouchable?

I don’t get it at all.
