Having someone as the "future starter" only requires someone to say it and they aren't that reckless. However, there was an article recently that the front office was high on Rattler and there are now articles coming out about them having to make a decision on Carr. All during the time we were waiting on Moore to be hired. It could be coincidental, but that's a lot of smoke.

I'm not worried about deciphering smoke right now.

My point is simply that the Falcons had already invested a 1st in their future QB. Their life after Cousins is already sorted out. That's the part the Saints have to figure, short term and long term.

I know you're just ready to have Carr out of the picture (again, I'm open to that) but it comes down to what Moore wants and what approach the front office wants to take. Salary cap is very much a factor in all of this, as you know. It's not prohibitive, but the team has a lot of pieces to this to sift through and make work.
