Kellen spoke about taking advantage of the dome/crowd. The Vikings/Flores scheme crowds the LOS on 3rd down, and they play Zone.
This is importantly because crowd noise can effect a defense as much as it does an offense. Especially if that defense has a lot of rules. Send one guy in motion and if the communication isn’t proper then entire thing breaks down. That in theory happens more often when a defense is in man coverage on those pivotal downs.
Sudden a shift can cause confusion and the advantage is no longer in the defenses hands. Playing Zone on those critical downs should help that since motioning vs zone doesn’t cause the defense to chance much.
They identify the new #2 or 3 and everyone adjust based on their coverage principles, like “banjo”
This type of scheme should take advantage of our crowd far easier and our offense should travel better.
