Elon Musk now daily calls for people to go to prison for what is nothing more than speech.

The people who championed him as some free speech warrior are absolute dopes. It was obvious that was just a tool for his ends - he never understood or cared about free speech.

if anyone thought he was actually using Twitter for free speech and not a tool for power, is a fool.
Hindsight is always 2020, but its clear now he used it to muscle his way into power.. Anyone that still believes its about free speech is defenitly lying to themselves...
