Saints hire Ted Rath as director of sports science, former Eagles director of sports performance

I'm sure you will hate telling him he was wrong. :)

But, yeah, Sports Science is kind of a new term but it's also a kind of a new position. They used to just have Strength and Conditioning coaches, but I that mostly was mostly just lifting weights and staying in shape with the Athletic Trainers doing the stretching and treatment stuff. Sports Science guys tend to also do things involving player nutrition, injury prevention, muscle balance, etc. I think these days you often have the Athletic Trainers and Strength and Conditioning guys working under the Sports Science Director that runs the entire program including nutrition, stretching, injury prevention, injury recovery, etc. And I think the Director of Sports Science probably works in tandem with the team doctors.
Well, if all that works -- cos, God knows, we need it -- I guess it doesn't matter what the title is.

And, don't worry, I get plenty of opportunities to tell him he's wrong. Just not usually when the subject is football.
