Ian Rapoport: Saints to make a decision on Taysom Hill; hard to imagine Hill returning [T.Hill is turning 35 w/ 18M cap hit & ACL recovery]

He's not an NFL level passer and I don't think he's ever going to be. We'll see how much NFL teams believe that by where he gets drafted. I hope it's not us.
While I tend to agree, I will acknowledge that the way the modern game is trending makes it more possible that he could be successful. Hurts still isn't a great pure passer, but the combination of his football IQ, scrambling ability, and competitiveness are enough to supplement his growth throwing the ball. We've seen some incredible flashes from Milroe, and the raw talent is there. The wild card with him is whether or not he will be honest enough with himself to recognize and ruthlessly attack his areas of weakness.

I wouldn't take him in the first or even second round, but if he "passes the test" throughout the interview process, I'd likely be inclined to make sure I have a shot at him near the top of the 3rd round. He's probably worth that just as a pure athlete/playmaker.
