Cap Implications of Keeping and Cutting Derek Carr

It gives you 2 years to rebuild your roster instead of sitting on your hands for a year and trying to accomplish everything in 1 year.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Keeping Carr when you know that you're going to rebuild in 2026 equates to sitting on your hands.

Cutting Carr and starting the rebuild now doesn't mean that we'd be trying to accomplish everything in 1 year. All it does is set a more clear path to cleaner books in the years that we'd be ready to compete. The only priority should be to get from underneath the contract of the vet QB who you know isn't the future, and don't restructure/extend anyone whose last name is Davis, Mathieu, or Jordan.
