I won't say McDuffie is "unsung" per se, because he has a well established record of high quality work in both comics and animation, but i do think we need to talk about him more because of how good that work was. He was an insanely talenred dude who was taken from us way too soon.
No doubt. I'm happy his estate and DC were able to come to terms that allowed Milestone to come back when it did. He contributed so much to the industry and DC almost lost him before they brought him back to write on the animation side.
One thing I found interesting from the interview (the video is live on YouTube), is that Christopher Priest (who definitely has a history of his own) was actually more involved in Milestone's formation, but didn't want the credit.
