Tom Pelissero:Rams Give Matthew Stafford Permission to Speak with Other Teams

Stafford is considerably cheaper. In 2025, he’s owed $27m vs $40m for Carr. He’s also due $58m over the next two years compared to $90m for Carr.

He may want some new money if he gets traded, but I don’t think any team will give him $90m+ for two years.

This makes it pretty clear how bad Carr's contract is for this year and next. $40 million this year and $50 million next year. It's just distasteful to pay Carr that much more than Stafford. Not that Stafford would make sense for us right, but it makes it clear how little sense Carr makes for this team in this position with that contrat.
