World class windsurfing in Hood River, OR on the Columbia. About 45 east up the Columbia gorge. They got wind. And fishing. Right at the base of Mt Hood. Spectacular. Which btw is taller than any mountain in Colorado by a lot. It is over 12000' in elevation, but it starts at like 200' above sea level.

For reference Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs is over 14,000 but starts at over 6000' above sea level

Oh and the Pacific Ocean is only 45 minutes away so sailing isn't an issue
