Draft or Trade Down

The root of the question is this: CAN we win now? If we can recruit the players we need, with the cap space that we have, can we win the division?

Whether a division winner can make it to the big game is only partially on them. Too many years in recent memory have been decided by the folks in stripes...

But looking realistically, given the weak division, and the guys that are projected to have an up year, the cap hell we're in annually... Can we win the division? If that's not a realistic projection, I say trade down trade down trade down till we're out of picks this year. Grab undrafted with chips on their shoulders. Guys who want to prove something. Take next year on the chin and cash in next year, when we have draft capital and salary cap space to make a legitimate run at it.
We absolutely can win the NFCS this yr, and that should be the 1st goal every yr.
To me our biggest issue last yr was not talent, no we did not have an abundance of talent but talent was there. Our biggest issues were a bad HC and defensive coaching staff and injuries.

DA was an abysmal motivator. Players were just going through the motions. That was evident when Rizzi took over and players played much harder for him.

We were hit early and hard by injuries and could never recover
We have a good chance to win the NFCS this yr if we restructure DC and a few of the younger guys we plan to keep. Resign some of our own FAs like Adebo and maybe Harris and Gay to cheap contracts. JJ may be up in the air. Fill some holes with mid level FAs like a DT, a OG maybe a safety.
Then have a good draft getting at least 2 maybe 3 starters. Preferably a big body pass catcher either an X WR or TE , a edge rusher

We have a HC that I think is light yrs ahead of DA along with a coaching staff that is shaping up to be quite good. So yes we can win the NFCS and that's where you start.

What we do this yr should determine what we do in 26, move on from Carr or find our QB of the future
