What teams don't do that? Most times when a team goes through a rebuild, it's because they have unintentionally hit rock bottom.
I personally would have cut Carr to start the rebuild this year. And, maybe they are wrong that this team can be competitive and they hit rock bottom last year, but most teams go kicking and screaming into a rebuild.
Teams that are aware that they aren't good enough as they are and won't get far with their current aging roster. The Broncos just recently did a purge and it's working out for them.
